Shanghai Bistro Lunch on Aug 26....

How are you? Thought I would share a few pictures of our meal on Saturday. We went to Shanghai Bistro, located in the Discovery Bay 2nd floor. (formerly Dynasty rest). I heard they have a weekend brunch..and pretty resonably priced at $15.95. When I called to see what was on the menu, she said 35 items. Of course its not 100 items like Buffet 100, but it was really good. I thought it was worth the $15.95. You get to eat nicely prepared Shanghai cuisine. They had appetizers, like spring roll, fried gyoza like thingys, salt/pepper shrimp, and a few other items. Rice soup & veg soup. Fried rice, shanghai noodles, lobster something, that pork with fat, boiled eggs (boiled in tea & 5spice), beef/veg, mabo tofu, eggplant, and other things, i dont remember. The dessert area was really nice. Petite cookies & other yummy goodies. As you can see they made tiny cats! It was delicious! its like a manju, but with choco in it. But very small. You gotta eat a bunch of em! We played around, and put a few in mango tapioca, the mochi was ONO! I thought all in all it was nice. Different than the usual places most go to. Its really nice setting in there, all wood and somewhat romantic (well at nite). They have an area where you can lounge. I think they even have jazz on some nites. Try it out, you might like it!

Saturdays lunch

Hey there~
Lets see...saturday i went to Highway Inn in Waipahu for lunch. As you can see from the pictures, they serve Hawaiian food. I have heard bout this place for several years...and always wanted to try it out. So we did. I had the laulau combo (w/kalua pig) and it was like um...$11 something i think. Ok...lets see...i have been to several Hawaiian food eateries..and well, i think Helena's & Ono's are the best so far. Highway Inn was ok, but i dont think they give too much. The pig was good. The pipikaula was oily and "chewy". Haupia was ah...ok. Laulau was ok. One of my friends had beef stew & rice...and i am not sure if she liked it. I did have mac salad instead of lomi salmon...that was good. We had to wait bout 10 or so minutes to be seated...even after 1pm! Very busy place. They also have a fish market next door (same name). One friend got the pickled onion...was good. Oh and they dont give you raw onion & alae salt like Helena's and Ono's. If u like, you gotta pay 50cent ithink. BUT like i said, at least i tried it for myself...and now i know. If anyone has been there, let me know what you think bout the food. Have a great monday and be safe! Type more another time!

Black Eyed Peas Concert Aug 14 2006

Hey There!
Just thought I would share a few pictures from the Black Eyed Peas concert this past monday. As you can see, I was in the 18th row...smack in the middle! It was really awesome seats. I was able to see really well! The concert was full of energy! The BEP really put on a good show...they are so full of energry! Imagine, singing and dancing! Whew! Just thinking bout it makes me tired! heheh Will I Am even played drums & rapped! Talented he is! Of course Fergie looked mahvalous. Her track pants was nice with all da sparkel sparkel! heheh Of course apl had a very big crowd there....the Filipino's were in da house.Some of em even had signs! I dont think there was a person in there who didnt move at all..the songs & the music...the energy of the band & crowd just F L O W E D into you! At one point, they had cpl dudes make some music with wooden table & chair, kind of like Stomp. It was cool. I am glad i had decent seating. Actually, i could of had 4th row, but it would of been on the right side of the stage, but where i was...perfect! You could see the whole stage! Fortunately i am not really height challanged, so i had no problem seeing the stage. Poor thing for the height challanged heheh I kind of feel bad thou, the ladies behind me were a little height challanged....so i stood even straighter! LMAO nah hehe Final thing...i really enjoyed myself @ the concert and cant wait to see Pearl Jam & U-2 in Dec!! I hope we have more awesome concerts in the near future....I think Tool should be good too, unfortunately i dont think i will be going to that one...and its strange they are havin that concert at the NBC concert hall! What is up with that?! Do they know what sort of peeps go to a Tool concert?! Hmm maybe not eh?! Oh well!

Suntory Restaurant on Aug 12

Took my friends to Suntory Restaurant @ the Royal Hawaiian Shoppin center this past saturday. They never been, so we went heheh! I really thought the sukiyaki was ONO! I think they all enjoyed thier meal. We also had dessert...of course i had the coffee jello..which i love! The others had green tea, kona coffee ice cream & anmitsu! Check it out sometime! They validate parking! Oh i must mention, the water they give is ONO! They put lemon in it...not a wedge...but i guess they squeeze it into the water. Its soo soo sooooo refreshing!! ONO!!

SushiTen @ Waikele Golf Course

Halo Halo! How have you been?! As you can tell, I have been busy lately! I have not had time to put any pictures up! Last week friday I went to a new place to eat lunch. Its called Sushi Ten (or was it sushi tei?!) Anyways, its located at the Waikele Golf Course. Its owned by an Okinawan family. Its a really nice place, the clubhouse that is. Very "old Hawaiian" feeling with nice koa wood furniture and nostalgic pictures of "old Hawaii". The food was ok. I guess a little for me heheh I had the Garlic Miso chicken...which was very flavourful...BUT i dont like skin on my chicken...so by the time i took off all the skin, i ended up with jus a tad bit of chicken! heheh I had a nice small salad, which had a very Ono dressing. Seems like a few others ordered the salmon...i forget what its called. The clubhouse looked good, and so did the pasta....but i dont know if it was actually "good" if you know what i mean hehe Anyways, its a nice place....a little high priced, just a tad...for the amount of food you get, but hey, its a にほんしよく place...so that is how it is, ね！

Halo there!
How are you>? Did you have a great weekend?! I surely did! Went cruising again with some friends. I took a few nice pcitures i wanted to put on here...but mento me....deleted it!! I dunno how i did that!! I even took some nice pictures of our meal at cheesecake factory on saturday! MAN i am mad at myself! I really cant belive i did that! I should of put the pics up last nite! BUT i was soo so tired from all the weekend festivities!! Oh welL! I am sure i will be able to take more pictures this weekend! This time i WONT delete it! LMAO I was just tryin to free up my space on the memory stick to get ready for this weekend! AAAGGGGHHHH!!! Oh well! Unko happens! LMAO hahaha

Aloha! How are you today!? I hope this brought a smile to your face! I thought it was really cute, and everytime i look at it, I cant help but smile! Smiling can be contagious u know heheh But then again, it does bring on the wrinkles...hmm that aint good! I just wanted to say HI and have a wonderful day! Its my "friday" at work, so i am a happy camper! Its been a few weeks since i had to work 5-day in a row! heheh Gotta do what we gotta do...someone is on maternity leave at work for THREE MONTHS!
